Wigan sent shockwaves through the Barclay's Premier League with a shock 3-1 win over 10(or 9)-man Chelsea, reports skysports.com.
Petr Cech saw red in an explosive start to the second-half which saw Chelsea equalise before immediately conceding a penalty, which Hugo Rodallega won and dispatched.
Chelsea had won each of their six games so far this season and only this week were being labelled as almost unbeatable, a tag which manager Carlos Ancelotti rebuffed.
Titus Bramble opened the scoring on 16 minutes when he headed home unmarked from around 8 yards when Charles N'Zogbia delivered after a short corner.
The Latics held on until half-time and perhaps should have taken advantage of some suspect Chelsea defending as Emmerson Boyce shot straight at Cech from inside the six yard box.
Chelsea began the second-half in great urgency and were level on 47 minutes as Didier Drogba steered home Florent Malouda cross past Chris Kirkland in the Wigan goal, who was guilty of failing to hold the Ivorian's tame effort.
Wigan were back in front soon after when Cech brought down Rodallega inside the after the Columbian raced through on goal.
Florent Malouda was sacrificed as Henrique Hilario came in to replace Cech in the Chelsea goal but he was sent the wrong way by Rodallega, who picked himself up to drill home the penalty.
Chelsea were unable to regain control of the game as play resumed and after using all three subs, they were reduced to nine men after Ashley Cole was unable to continue in injury time.
The away side were massively exposed as they desperately searched an equaliser and Paul Scharner capitalised when he poked home from a yard out after great wing play by Maynor Figueroa a minute into added time.
So, another disgraceful display of refereeing. When are prats like Phil Dowd going to realise that the fans come to see eleven men against eleven, not the likes of him.
Make no mistake, if Cech had been wearing a Man. Utd., Liverpool or Arsenal shirt in the same situation he would have stayed on the pitch.
Still, we'll win the league despite the officials, not because of them. We always have before.

take it you hadn't been to the game as you were out battled in midfield, it was a sending off as he was last man and hugo would have scored , as for chelsea with drogba always on his arse waving his arms, terry with his dirty tactics you were actually lucky to come away with only 3 goals against you due to dodgy linesman decisions. yes we do go to see 11 v 11 but if you cant play by the rules so be it. UP THE TICS.
u seem 2 think refrees are put on de field witout any knowledge or experience of de game i think i would trust his decision than some blind chelsea fan,nd be practical nd accept it also,nd sure ull will win de league after de trasnfer ban is off casue u could go 2 ur rich owner nd buy couple of players nd win casue remember wen ull won it recently ul had won it after 50 yrs, think logically y ull did k
oh come on then, keep in mind who you were playing against. wigan! do you really think that refs are giving us favoritism over you guys? fact is a penalty is a penalty and a red card is a red card and if you look at this strictly by the rulebook the ref got it right. so please don't complain that because you're chelsea you should be getting bullshit calls, that kind of thing takes away from the true game of football.
you rip the skysports report off well there, but forgot to include the bit where they say that both decisions were right.
You can't blame the ref for that result mate. Wigan were the better team all day, we were second best. Yes the red made a difference and from where I was it looked like a red but I couldn't see us scoring today.
just wait until the return fixture at "The Bridge " and I hope you need the points to save you from relegation and God help you ,you will need him !
So the Refs are against you? Maybe you don't pay them as much as you have done in the past.
Nothing like be gracious in defeat is there Nicole love
Oh gimme a break! So were you prattling on about anti-Chelsea refs when you got the non-penalty at Anfield to scrape a draw? No, course you weren't. Not only that, but it was a STONEWALL penalty today!
WAAAHHHH!!
I can only imagine the scenes had Kirkland brought down Drogba in the same fashion.
And Nicole mate, I hope you need the points for a guaranteed Champions League place, so bring on the return fixture at "The Bridge" and if you keep playing like you did today, God help you too.
No one has commented upon Malouda's appalling assault on Melchiot that could have broken his leg. That was deserving of a red card and Dowd looked right through it from ten yards away. Of course, malouda then want on to set up Drogba's equaliser. Some people only see what they want.
Best part of being a Wigan fan...
Pissing people like you off when we banjo you!
I watched the game and was very disappointed with some of Chelsea`s players, why do they think they have the right to question every decision that goes against them.
what was Drogba doing digging holes around the penalty spot while he thought no one was watching, why did Cech not leave the field of play straight away.
These are just a few of the antics by there players.
At least your manager kept his honour in defeat, you should all learn a lesson from him.
Lastly Nicole I hope you have picked your self up off the floor and dried your eyes, life can be hard some times, ask your sugar daddy for a cuddle.
Wigan fans should be happy. Well played game. We can whine about the ref, but that will not change a thing. Let's see how will play this Wednesday...
